Who Cares What They Think?

So, Simpson posts,

Just One More Week …

… aren’t y’all excited?
Well, some people aren’t.
And he posts links to a critical article in some Richmond magazine or whatever, full of comments by a bunch of critics ... leftist hedonists, the kind of people who war on family and church, on decency and honor. You can tell that by reading their filthy comments.  With orgiastic pleasure, they wallow in self-made hatred, saying things about the Flaggers they'd be excoriated for if they were said about some folks.

It's like I said. Leftism gives people a way to indulge their hatred, to express and enjoy it, while pretending to be morally superior. Actually, the best thing you can say about people like this is that they're hypocrites ... i.e., moral scum. I shall refrain from saying the worst about them...

I will say this:

Who cares what they think?

Not me.

He includes this example of schizoid conclusion-jumping:

"See what happens when Susan Hathaway’s too afraid to talk?"

Is he serious? As if the left's indoctrination of hatred for the Confederacy, which has been ongoing for generations, has something to do with Susan. Has he completely lost it? Lost the ability to see and evaluate how he's coming across? Has his obsession with the VaFlaggers and the I-95 flag blunted his self awareness this much?

When the flag goes up, there are going to be people who are really surprised that Richmond doesn't fall into the sea ... or get swallowed up by the earth ... or suffer stunning economic desolation and become Detroit South...

Boy, are they in for a surprise. Things are going to clip along pretty much as they always have. That's what's happened everywhere else that big Confederate flags have gone up along side busy thoroughfares in the South.

Let me end by saying it again:

We don't care what critics think. Capsice?

  1. Connie Dear, you once gave me permission to be presumptuous, so here goes. Bwooks had a thread up entitled "what rides would you have at Confederate Heritage Disneyworld", and I am chomping at the bit for you to post a thread simply changing the word "Confederate" to "Union". Could you possibly be so gracious as to accommodate my request?

PS- if you do. I will name my first child after you.

  2. I like your closing comment, Connie, "we don't care what the critics think". I'd change it just a bit. "We don't care what the South-haters think". Hatred is the primary weapon in their war to destroy the South and its heritage. Won't happen.

  3. As to the original question "Who Cares What They Think", I perhaps can offer a little more anecdotal evidence as to why their opinions are worthless garbage and disregarding them is the best alternative. I return to a dispute I had earlier with stupid Al Makcey. That semi-literate buffoon, despite a mountain of factual and irrefutable evidence to the contrary, continues to claim that there was no Union under the Articles of Confederation. The dimwit claims it was only a "document", and it is impossible to secede from a document. Indeed, the dopey clod has devoted an entire thread to this stupidity on his website "Bad Student of the Civil War". Here is what Stupid Al Mackey says:

"The Articles of Confederation was our first written constitution. A constitution is:

: the system of beliefs and laws by which a country, state, or organization is governed

: a document that describes this system

As we can see, a constitution is NOT A UNION. "

Now, to contradict the oaf, here is the precise language from the Articles of Confederation:

"To all to whom these Presents shall come, we the undersigned Delegates of the States affixed to our Names send greeting.
Articles of Confederation and PERPETUAL UNION between the states of New Hampshire, Massachusetts-bay Rhode Island and Providence Plantations, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.

    And...

"..The better to secure and perpetuate mutual friendship and intercourse among the people of the different States IN THIS UNION..."

    And...

"...Canada acceding to this confederation, and adjoining in the measures of the United States, shall be admitted into, and entitled to all the advantages of THIS UNION; but no other colony shall be admitted into the same, unless such admission be agreed to by nine States..."

    And...

    "...every State shall abide by the determination of the United States in Congress assembled, on all questions which by this confederation are submitted to them. And the Articles of this Confederation shall be inviolably observed by every State, and THE UNION shall be perpetual;

So in the face of the exact and emphatic language from the Articles of Confederation, which explicitly and repeatedly identifies the UNION of the Articles of Confederation, this ignorant blowhard jackass has the unmitigated gall and sheer audacity to pronounce, without the slightest degree of embarrassment, that there was no Union under the Articles of Confederation.

Now I ask you, if this blundering, contemptible, dishonest loud-mouthed know-nothing can arrogantly assert these palpable absurdities and blatant falsehoods, why in fact, should we concern ourselves with the rest of their fatuous nonsensical "arguments"?

  4. To re-emphasize the point that their views are worthless, it is instructive to visit with Stupid Al Mackey again(the gift that keeps on giving). Mackey of course, is notoriously dishonest, but this next event is truly breathtaking. It seems that Kevin Levin opened a thread on his blog regarding the general nature of commentary. After a few remarks and observations from various contributors, Stupid Al Mackey weighed in. Here is what he wrote:

"I not only moderate closely, BUT I FREELY EDIT OUT INSULTS AND RUDE LANGUAGE. I WILL NOT ALLOW ANY BULLYING ON MY BLOG, and I BELIEVE EVERYONE SHOULD FEEL AT EASE THAT THEY,RE NOT GOING TO BE SUBJECTED TO RUDE BEHAVIOR. I look at the blog as an extension of my home. I WON'T ALLOW ONE GUEST TO INSULT OR ACT RUDELY TOWARD ANOTHER in my home and I also don't do it on my blog."

Here is a sampling of the treatment just one of Mackey's guest bloggers received:

"I would love to have a professional psychologist...give us an assessment of his mental state. This individual is seriously disturbed." -Jimmy Dick

"Semiliterate losers who flunked out of school in the third grade have to pretend to be something they could never be in the real world." -Al Mackey

"Pitiful. Both the video and this guy as a leader of anything." -Michael Confoy

"Did you looney tunes in some make believe army of traitors ever join and serve in a real army... I wouldn’t follow an illiterate wannabe into battle or to the
    bathroom." -Jimmy Dick

At one point the bullying and belittling got so bad that in a brief show of decency, Rob Baker tried to call of the dogs by saying "let's not kick a man when he's down". Mackey, apparently enjoying the savagery, would have none of it, and encouraged the attacks to continue; Baker then fell in line. The whole thing was foul and grotesque, made more so by Macky's unconscionable and vulgar hypocrisy. The guy is truly a piece of work.
