More Lessons on Leftist Lying

Here's an example of what I mentioned earlier -- Simpson's smear of the VaFlaggers using Matt Heimbach.  And another stark example of yet another method of Simpson lying.
Recently Corey Meyer asked three simple questions of Virginia Flaggers spokesperson Connie Chastain.

Question 1. Is Tripp Lewis a Virginia Flagger?

Question 2. Did Tripp Lewis call Matt Heimbach a “Good Guy”?

Question 3. Since Matt’s opinions have been discovered, has the Va. Flaggers refuted Matt for those opinion or have they continued to embrace him as a Friend on FB?

Connie declined to answer the questions.
Lie, lie, lie.  I answered the question. You can go here:
http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=4211529354680229185&postID=4890550493111826822
and read my answer.

Here is my answer:  "Nothing the VaFlaggers have done indicates he is a favorite (i.e., regarded with special favor or preference). They have never "embraced" him. He attended a couple of VaFlagger events. That's pretty much the extent of their contact with him. Simpson is a liar."

Then Simpson continues his relentless harassment -- actually, his attempted persecution -- of Susan Hathaway, although he ostensibly is referring to me: "Nor did she have any information on when we can next expect to see Susan Hathaway flagging in front of the VMFA, although she knows Susan’s speaking schedule."

What I know of Susan's schedule comes to me in dispatches from the VaFlaggers for me to upload to their website but I'm pretty sure she does a lot more than is listed on the blog.

Maybe Simpson would like to explain why he's asking about Susan flagging the VMFA. Maybe he'd like to explain why he thinks it's any of his business. Because it isn't -- unless he has interests in the VMFA he's deliberately hiding?

C'mon, Simp. What's your interest in all this? Somebody paying you? Or is it to get back at Virginia for some imagined slight you experienced when you resided there? C'mon, fess up. The  depth and type of interest you're exhibiting begs for some explanation.

He continues, "This is proof that at times she can be quiet."  She, meaning me.

Except I haven't been quiet.

"However, we soon expect a tenth post this month attacking “a total nobody.”

Yup. To the VaFlaggers, you are a total nobody, Simpson. They don't even read your flog.

As much fun as that was, it gets more fun in the comments.

Kristen "Schroeder" Konate -- she who put her own address on Facebook and then accused Barry and Grayson of doing it -- sez, "The Flaffers are floundering out of their element – they have managed to create a circus image for themselves here in RVA."

Oh, dear readers. I wish I could tell you how absurdly hilarious that is, and why. Let's just say increases in membership and donations undeniably refute Konate's claim. Although, she may be right that her leftist, all-emotion, little-cognition "unity" crowd see the VaFlaggers that way. (Flaffers? She's not real good at making up parody nicknames, is she?)  But regular folks know better.

Then we have several WONDERFUL posts from "B. Parks," who first hallucinates right there on WordPress for all to see. Apparently, she thinks insulting me and the VaFlaggers elevates herself in some manner. In fact, she gives us a sharply focused look at what "tolerance" and "unity" are really all about -- hatefulness and insults. The VaFlaggers are not mentally challenged or embarrassed. Neither am I. We are only the butt of humor-impaired (and decency-impaired) people's jokes, and the VaFlaggers have done more for the strengthening of Confederate heritage than any other group in a long time. If B. Parks was right, Simpson wouldn't have to fabricate so much crap to try to embarrass the Flaggers with.

Don't you love the hateful "hillbilly stereotype" accusation? I have to say, though, as one who comes from a long line of true Appalachian hillbillies, I believe yer average hillbilly is several rungs above B. Parks and her ilk on the ladder of sheer decency and integrity.

But I relish her second post more than the first. Sez B Parks, "I wanted to add that Chastain calling you a ‘nobody’ is hysterical as she is the one who writes make believe books and pretends to he some kind of romance novelist."

Well, I wrote a romance novel, so I'm not pretending. And it was published by a small, indie publisher in California, so it's not make believe, is it? In fact, all three of my published novels (one romance, one YA coming of age tale, and one mainstream novel) are available as real, tangible paperbacks that you can hold in your hand, not just e-books. Maybe she's confusing "fiction" and "make-believe." Do you reckon she doesn't know that some of the greatest works of literature to come from the pen, and the mind, of humanity, were fiction?

"Only thing she seems to able to create are offensive web banners..."

Well, they weren't offensive to my customers. Perhaps she's confusing my Facebook memes -- which can certainly be offensive to leftists and haters -- with the advertising web banners I've done for my customers.

"...and mediocre book covers that look like they were done by middle schoolers with a pirated copy of Kids Paintbrush!"

Oh, B. Parks.  Show me book covers YOU have created, sweetheart. Show us some you created for paying customers, doll-face.  Like these: http://wordslingerboutique.biz/customercovers.html

Put your money where your blabbering mouth is.  Show us your covers.

Then Corey makes a fool of himself with this: "...Connie is the internet voice of the Flaggers…which I have always found odd…that the Va. Flaggers cannot maintain their own website since Tripp Lewis is a paid internet hacker. Odd indeed."

Corey, you have a blog. You should know the difference between creating content and uploading it. I receive info, i.e., content, from the VaFlaggers and I upload it to their blog. I don't create it. I create content for MY blog. I do blog about the VaFlaggers quite a bit, and sometimes I ask for, and receive, information to blog about. But I try not to bother them much because they're busy people, so as much as I can, I make do with what I find on Facebook. (Corey, Tripp is busy; he has a job, he has a family, and he already has an Internet enterprise that requires a lot of time to keep up, so he doesn't have much time. I do. Is understanding dawning yet?)

Then we have some more scrumptious insults from B. Parks, who gives us a truly breathtaking look at the inner workings of the hateful leftist mindset. Some hick?  Great, wonderful B. Parks.  What lovely intolerance! Leftist name-calling at its best. "...makes Cooter look like a brainchild..." Isn't it hilarious that this woman -- has to be a woman -- is putting down other people's mental capacities for no other reason than that she hates them (and she doesn't even know them!) while she doesn't know the meaning of "brainchild"?

(BTW, B. Parks, their Confederate ancestors failed because an army of barbarians made war on civilians in the South. Same army that made brutal war on American Indians. Proud of that, too, are you? That's increasingly what being an American means -- pride in our national brutality carried out under our flag, Old Gory....)

How I would love for James Knox to produce some of the "racist rhetoric" he believes the VaFlaggers are "indoctrinating children" with, but you know he can't produce it, because it doesn't exist. Everything these haters and critics "know" about the VaFlaggers comes not from reality, but from what the voices in their heads tell them. Or from what the read on Simpson's blog, which is pretty much the same thing.

  1. LOL Connie even the League of the South has distanced themselves from Heimbach...why can't the Va. Flaggers?

  2. No need to, Corey. They've never been close to him -- except in the minds of people who hate them, anyway.

  3. Here are some questions for you, Corey. Why do you care what people 680 miles away, in another state, are up to? Or what kind of flag they fly, or don't fly?

    ReplyDelete
  4. I care about the history that they are butchering in the process of flying their flags. Do I care they fly the rebel flag...No, but I do care about the history they appear to have no concept of.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Bullcrap, Corey. You have no concern about history at-flippin-all, just like Simpson doesn't. Look at those 104 posts. How many of them have to do with freakin' HISTORY?

Matthhew Heimbach has nothing to do with history. The League of the South distancing itself from Heimbach has NOTHING TO DO WITH HISTORY.

You are a leftist. You have absorbed it like nuclear radiation and now you GLOW with leftism. Leftism is addicted to race, strung out on it. It is what leftists use to demonize people with.

HISTORY is a RUSE. You don't care about history. Hardly any history appears on your blog. Like Simpson and the other floggers (Simp is just the most extreme), history is a leftist excuse, a tool, a weapon for attacking others AS RACISTS.

You couldn't give an example of the VaFlaggers "butchering" history if your lousy job depended on it.

Why don't you try telling the truth, for a change. Admit you don't care about history. You care about demonizing conservatives and traditionalists, particularly Southerners, and MOST particularly, Southern heritage folks, as racists.

Tell the truth for once, Corey. Tell the truth.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Tell the truth? I did...I just cannot help is you don't get it or you don't like the answer.

Look at the facebook pages of the Confederate Flaggers or SHPG and look at how they butcher the history they post. They would not know Civil War history if it bit them on the ass.

The only reason I highlight the flagger's antics and Matt Heimbach is to show motive. Make the flag about soldiers and honor and not about a fight to preserve slavery and you have butchered the history.

And, I cannot help focus on race since slavery was the cause of secession and the war effort on behalf of the confederate government. So if you really think that makes me a leftist...then you just keep assuming that...but you know what assuming does.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Corey, the SHPG is not the Virginia Flaggers. The Confederate Flaggers FB page is an open group -- most members are not flaggers and don't flag anywhere, they're just enthusiastic heritage defenders against more and greater attacks. Most of the posts on there aren't about the civil war.

To do what you and the race-addicted floggers do -- claim that the war was all/only about slavery, is as wrong as saying slavery had nothing to do with it. You refuse to see the distinction between the causes of secession and the causes of the war. You recognize only those "sources" of "history" that support your pre-existing leftist viewpoint.

You are WORSE than those you criticize.

The "motives" you highlight are FABRICATED. MADE UP. Because you have such a stake in portraying people you hate as racists. That's all you leftists care about.

Focusing on race/slavery in the South and ignoring the complicity of the north is your filthy MO. I'm getting less and less patient with you, and unless you start telling the truth, you will find your comments barred from this blog, unread.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I am telling the truth and I have never covered up the fact that the North was responsible for slavery in the US as much as the south.

However I do make the distinction between figthing a war to preserve the Union and figthing a war to preserve slavery.

    ReplyDelete
  9. So Connie are you now on the record as to say that you do not believe Matt Heimbach is a racist and that Tripp Lewis calling him a "Good Guy" is not a racist either despite both you and Tripp knowing the beliefs of Matt Heimibach?

You may not agree with me on the racial views of the Va. Flaggers, but it is documented fact that Tripp Lewis called Matt Heimbach is a good guy and since Matt has dove into the Neo-Nazi deep end Tripp has not retracted his approval of Matt.

    ReplyDelete
  10. As for the Facebook pages...if it just member saying things, why do the flaggers allow those things to be posted on the page...if they are not wanting to be associated with bad history they should not post it. By posting it they are agreeing with it.

How hard is that to understand?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Corey -- "I am telling the truth and I have never covered up the fact that the North was responsible for slavery in the US as much as the south."

Yeah, you cover it up, by focusing totally on the South and never focusing on the north.

Corey -- "However I do make the distinction between figthing a war to preserve the Union and figthing a war to preserve slavery."

A meaningless, made-up distinction, since nobody was fighting to end slavery so nobody could have been fighting to preserve it. The South was fighting to protect their homes, families, communities and territory from a brutal army of invasion.

Corey -- "So Connie are you now on the record as to say that you do not believe Matt Heimbach is a racist..."

I've made no statement to that effect, on or off the record.

Corey -- "...and that Tripp Lewis calling him a "Good Guy" is not a racist either despite both you and Tripp knowing the beliefs of Matt Heimibach?"

Tripp was perfectly clear saying Matt was a good guy for honoring his Confederate forebears. Nothing Tripp said about him could remotely be called racist. See, this is the slimy, filthy tactics you liars use. You give meaning to things people say that they never intended, and then you attack, harass, and persecute them over your lies. You make me sick.

Corey -- "You may not agree with me on the racial views of the Va. Flaggers..."

It's not a matter of agreeing or disagreeing. It's a matter that I knowing you are wrong, you are lying, and you know you are lying, and you are doing it deliberately so you can call somebody a racist, because that's what leftists do to make themselves feel morally superior. You need to understand something, Corey. Lying does not make you morally superior. Quite the opposite.

Corey -- "As for the Facebook pages...if it just member saying things, why do the flaggers allow those things to be posted on the page...if they are not wanting to be associated with bad history they should not post it. By posting it they are agreeing with it."

No, they are not agreeing with it. I let you post your slimy lies here, and I don't agree with them.
My opinion is that the VaFlaggers (and most heritage folks -- though not all) don't do it because they don't have a self-appointed thought cop mentality like you. Unlike you Procrusteans, they think people are entitled to their own opinions -- even you. There are a few my-way-or-the-highway types in Southern heritage, and there have been a few epic wars of words, but that is not the norm. Certainly not with the VaFlaggers.

Plus, they don't have an addiction to falsely generated feelings of moral superiority. Besides, as I have noted, most of the posts on the Confederate Flagger group are not history posts.

Corey -- "How hard is that to understand?"

Oh, I understand it, Corey. I just don't agree with it. In fact, I vehemently disagree with it. Letting someone post opinions does not signify everyone agrees with them. You leftists are such mental clones (look how you floggers all post the same things, disagreement hardly ever expressed). This scummy leftist tactic of guilt-by-association is one of the most unAmerican ideas to have taken hold in the 20th Century, thanks to haters like the Southern Poverty Law Center (with their mendacious "links and ties" slander). Liberty suffers because of it, but then, liberty isn't high on the leftist list of priorities, is it?

  12. Connie says..."A meaningless, made-up distinction, since nobody was fighting to end slavery so nobody could have been fighting to preserve it."

You seriously cannot be that stupid...can you?

    ReplyDelete
  13. No, I'm not stupid. What's stupid is to believe all those righteous New England yankees cared about slaves or slavery while they were getting rich off slave-grown cotton, and could have ended slavery any time by refusing to buy slave-grown cotton.

Yes, there were probably some individuals in the damnyankee army fighting to free slaves, and a few in the Confederate Army fighting to keep them, but that's not why most were fighting, and that was not what the war itself was about/over. If it had been Lincoln would have at least mentioned it, at least in passing, in his proclamation calling for volunteers to invade the South.

The all-slavery/only-slavery tunnel vision practiced by people such as yourself is necessary for you to be able to evilize people as racist, which is what leftists do.

    ReplyDelete
  14. 1. I have never said that some Yankees were not getting rich off southern cotton and slave labor. The textile mills in the North needed that cotton...that is true. Some Yankees even took part in the slave trade...never said anything different.

    2. Again your lack of reading of historical and or secondary sources keep you from a clear understanding of what happened with the coming of the war. Lincoln did not mention freeing the slaves in his calling of the troops because it was not one of the Unions war aims...Saving the Union was paramount. The south on the other hand made it very clear as to why the south was seceding and what the war meant if it were to lose. Slavery would be gone and the cornerstone of the south's society destroyed. Again your admitted lack of reading exposes your failure to understand the importance of slavery to those who did not even own slaves.

By having slavery in the discussion I am not trying to make the Va. Flaggers or you look like evil racist. Tripp I am not so sure about...

I just want them to be honest in regards to the history they claim to be honoring...right or wrong...good or bad...at least own up to what their ancestors were fighting for as set forth by their government.

I have never believed people like you (? in question since you won't answer the six questions or disavow Heimbach), Susan or David Tatum are racists. I think you are historically misinformed/poorly educated.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Corey -- "1. I have never said that some Yankees were not getting rich off southern cotton and slave labor. The textile mills in the North needed that cotton...that is true. Some Yankees even took part in the slave trade...never said anything different."

But you haven't pointed it out much, have you ? You've never harped and carped and carped and harped on it the way you do the South, have you?

Corey -- "2. Again your lack of reading of historical and or secondary sources keep you from a clear understanding of what happened with the coming of the war. Lincoln did not mention freeing the slaves in his calling of the troops because it was not one of the Unions war aims..."

Well, duh. I THINK that was my POINT.

Corey -- "Saving the Union was paramount."

Why? Why couldn't the north have made it as a nation on their own? Why didn't they have what it took, without the South?

Corey -- "The south on the other hand made it very clear as to why the south was seceding and what the war meant if it were to lose. Slavery would be gone and the cornerstone of the south's society destroyed. Again your admitted lack of reading exposes your failure to understand the importance of slavery to those who did not even own slaves."

Including those in the north, that you so conveniently forget to mention most of the time. War to "preserve the union" would keep the cotton flowing north unimpeded. For the yankees and the feds, "preserving the union" meant economic dominance, which is what they slobbered for.

The north knew, too. That's why they abolished slavery and SOLD, not EMANCIPATED, their slaves. But you sanctify the racist, hating north, and demonize the south for having exactly the same views. You can't see past your desire to demonize.

Corey -- "By having slavery in the discussion I am not trying to make the Va. Flaggers or you look like evil racist. Tripp I am not so sure about..."

Yes, you are. That is PRECISELY what you are doing. That is what you leftist floggers are ALL ABOUT. Your whole approach to slavery is about demonization of white Southerners, past and present. That's why you ignore northern complicity. Besides, I've never denied slavery's place in the South or in the war. I just don't make it "all-slavery/only-slavery" like you. Your approach, BTW, is thoroughly dishonest, but necessary for the demonization that motivates you.

Corey -- "I just want them to be honest in regards to the history they claim to be honoring...right or wrong...good or bad...at least own up to what their ancestors were fighting for as set forth by their government."

BALONEY. That's not what you "just want." But even if it was, why is that any of your business? Who cares WHAT you "just want"? First, they're not being DIShonest, and second, there is soooooo much else that's wrong you could be focusing on. The problem is, the other things that are wrong in this country you COULD focus on won't slake your thirst for demonizing others like this does.

If you want honesty, start with your own lack of it. Look at the ... um ... man in the mirror and fix HIM before you start pointing fingers.

  16. Corey -- "I have never believed people like you (? in question since you won't answer the six questions or disavow Heimbach), Susan or David Tatum are racists. I think you are historically misinformed/poorly educated."

Because we won't roll over and take the self-righteous, hypocritical demonization from the likes of you? Nope. I just don't agree with your spin on history, Corey, because it is a leftist spin, for the purpose of demonization.

The six questions, btw, are not some universal litmus test for racism, some standard handed down by the Almighty. They are questions YOU made up out of YOUR desire to DEMONIZE people with the racist label. Shall I tell you want you can do with your six questions?

This country is chock full of poorly educated people, with more being ha-ha "graduated" every year. Why aren't you worried about even MORE dumbing down with Common Core? And you a teacher. Why aren't you worried about high school kids being being required to read Toni Morrison's pornographic novel? There is SOOOOO much else that is SOOOO wrong that you are totally ignoring in order to demonize people you don't like.

Using Heimbach to try to smear Tripp, the VaFlaggers, and anybody else except Heimback himself is a despicable thing to do.

  19. Connie...

    1. I have not dealt with the North's involvement with slavery because the North did not start a war to preserve it.

Is the North guilty of being involved in it...Yes.

    2. No Connie, your point was that since the North was not fighting to free the slaves the south could not have been fighting to preserve slavery. That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard.

    3. The country voted for Lincoln as president in a Constitutional election. The nation was transferred into his hands and it was his responsibility to transfer it to the next president as he had received it.

Why was the south unwilling to adhere to the Constitutional election of Lincoln as president?

    4. If I am demonizing anyone it is not for being racist it is for being historically dishonest.

    5. LOL...you complain that the Civil War Bloggers have no clue what the Va. Flaggers feel or believe but you must be clairvoyant to understand my motives...I tell you but just like Mike Lamb you cry "leftist", "liberal", "Communist"...what is wrong...no argument?

    Pathetic.

  20. Ah, got to rip on Common Core...what the hell do you know about Common Core other than what Glenn Beck is falsely saying?

Tell me what is wrong with Common Core's Social Studies Standards/History Standards since you seem to know so much.

I dare you... triple dog dare you.

I want chapter and verse from Common Core...

    ReplyDelete
  21. I have explained this to you before, and it is in my blog, probably more than once. Regardless of what the South was fighting for, the north/feds had no moral authority for coming down here and making war on Southerners.

Therefore, the Confederates were right, were justified, in defending themselves, and they deserve to be remembered with honor for their sacrifice. Neither ending slavery or preserving the union, or any other cockamamie excuse you can come up with, justified the north's brutal invasion and war on the South.

Corey -- "I have not dealt with the North's involvement with slavery because the North did not start a war to preserve it." So that means their involvement with slavery was ... no big deal? Not worth mentioning? That's just your way of saying you don't hold the north responsible for any wrongdoing, and the South is totally guilty of everything. That is Demonization with a capital D.

Lincoln's maneuverings that instigated war with no moral justification negated whatever claim he had to presidential processes.

Seeing history differently than you do is not being historically dishonest. YOU are NOT the final authority on what is historical truth, and you don't get to decide that for everyone -- or for ANYone, but yourself. Believe whatever you wish, but don't impose your beliefs, interpretations, understandings on every one else.

I have been interacting with you online for over ten years. Simpson, Levin, all you floggers reveal yourselves on your blogs. That's how I know you and your motives. You all have reveled them. Now, how many conversations have you had with Susan, or Barry, Grayson, etc.? You don't know anything about them. You may read things online, but you haven't conversed with them, and learned about them the way I've learned about you floggers.

I don't know what Glen Beck says about Common Core. I don't watch TV, except for Duck Dynasty and Alabama football. Certainly not news or talk shows. My opinions are from reading brief excerpts of some of the lessons and assignments for various age groups. And from the report that Toni Morrison's "The Bluest Eye" is required reading for 11th graders in some Common Core lesson plans.

Have you read that book, Corey? I've read enough to know I don't want to read more, enough to almost throw up. Enough to know 11th graders don't need to read it. Enough to know if I'd been forced to read it in the 11th grade, it would have been deeply disturbing to me.

Do your flippin Social Studies standards justify forcing 11th graders to be exposed to stuff that reads like soft core porn?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Connie, I remember being forced to read Faulkner, Williams, Poe, Shakespeare, etc. You know, the Classics. The teacher was a retired professor of English literature from UNT, Denton. This, in Texas, where we were'nt taught to worship Massachusetts, or regard Yankees as our masters or rightful rulers.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Ah so now you are into banning books...like censorship do ya Connie?

Nice...If I am a communist, you just made yourself the Nazi of the group.

    So sad.

BTW, my school is under the Common Core English standards and there are no plans to teach the book.

I am still waiting to see what you have to say about CC Soc. Studies/History.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Corey, see if you can tell the difference:

    (1) That book should be removed from libraries, bookstores, schools, Amazon, and every where else.

    (2) That book should not be required reading for 11th graders.

    Which one is advocating banning?

That it is not happening in your school does not mean it is not happening anywhere.

I don't know about social studies or history under Common Core, but considering what I do know about other areas, it wouldn't surprise me if it was about indoctrination, rather than education.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Mr. Owens, it is truly appalling to see how much education has changed -- not for the better -- since we were in school....

    ReplyDelete
  26. Connie,

How in the world do you know how education has or has not changed. Are you in a school everyday? Do you have children in school? Hell, do you even have kids?

Fine, so you don't want to ban it everywhere...just selectivly ban it from 16 year olds who see much worse in real life and in movies.

How do you know about the other areas of CC? Are you reading the Standards? Are you having to develop lesson plans based on the Standards? Where are you getting this information...Fox? Beck? Rush? Hannity? or anyone else who stands to gain fame for trying to dismantle everything Obama does or they don't agree with?

    Really...

Oh, by the way...at this time there are only two sets of Common Core Standards in use. English and Math. Science is next and God only know when they will come out with the Social Studies Standards...so don't pretent you know about something that does not exist yet...it make you look like a bigger fool than you already are.

    ReplyDelete
  27. One does not have to be in school every day to know how education has changed, just like one does not have to be a secretary to know that clerical work has changed.

Not making the book required reading his hardly banning it, Corey. Are you really that stupid?

BTW, have you read The Bluest Eye, or excerpts of it? How do you know 16 year olds see much worse in real life and movies?

I know what I've read from parents who have posted things online, or sent them to bloggers or news sites who posted them.

Here's a discussion, on a LOCAL news site, with comments from LOCAL PARENTS. It is not Glenn Beck or Fox News....

    http://www.northescambia.com/2013/09/florida-appears-ready-to-pull-out-of-common-core-standards-tests

Obama's doing a fine job of dismantling his presidency and legacy himself, he doesn't need any help.

I believe I have been very specific in identifying the areas of Common Core that I was criticizing. You're the one jumping to conclusions and looking life a fool.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Connie,

I sounds like Florida is reacting to the cries of Conservatives who just don't like anything anyone does that is not of their doing.

If the Pres. does it...it is crap, cry foul and call for its destruction.

And you have not be specific as to what Common Core gets wrong. I want to know which standards you disagree with...you know is it part of which grade...K 1, 2-3 etc and does it come from say things like Key Ideas and Details or Craft and Structure or how about Integration of Knowledge and Ideas. I am sure since you are a writer you could discuss all the details listed in Range of Reading and Level of Text Complexity.

So let me know on what page of the English Language Arts & Literacy in History Social Studies, Science, and Technical Subjects CC packet you have issues with.

Heck, I will give you the website address even...

You leftists have been trained and indoctrinated to see everything you object to as rooted in "racism" -- so disapproval of Obama's presidency, the worst in the history of the country, except maybe for Lincoln's, is attributed to "white racism," not his abysmal "record."

I've told you what I object to about Common Core. Did you have difficulty understanding it? If so, you can always go back and read what I wrote about it.

  30. I read what you wrote...you don't like one book on a list of recommended books from Common Core...so you think we should throw out the baby with the bath water... I get it.

  31. So, Corey.... what is New York (principals, not just parents) reacting to?

    http://www.newyorkprincipals.org/letter-to-parents-about-testing

And the article about The Bluest Eye didn't say it was recommended. It said it was required reading at the school(s) they were writing about.

Would YOU be comfortable discussing with your students a novel that glorifies rape, incest and pedophilia -- and portrays them, in the words of the author, as tender and innocent?

  32. The principal's article deals with concerns over testing, not CC.

Would I have trouble teaching that book, no...I am not a whimp and kids these days can handle stuff like this. You don't give them enough credit. Would I chose this book for my class, no. Would I teach it if asked or told to by the School Board...Yep.

    I am a teacher...you just wouldn't understand.

  33. Corey, please. The testing and the implementation of Common Core Learning Standards" are related....

5)The Low Passing Rate was Predicted: We know that in his “Implementation of the Common Core Learning Standards” memo of March 2013, Deputy Commissioner Slentz stated that proficiency scores (i.e., passing rate) on the new assessments would range between 30%-37% statewide. When scores were released in August 2013, the statewide proficiency rate was announced as 31%.

    =======

"I am not a whimp and kids these days can handle stuff like this. You don't give them enough credit."

    Whimp?

What you're saying is that kids have already been saturated with sex in education (i.e., "safe sex" instead of abstinance), the popular culture, and life, so more won't hurt? But saturating kids with sex is what explains "hooking up," STDs in teens, the skyrocketing teen pregnancy rate, etc. It is not to their credit but to their detriment. It is also to the detriment of their being able to create stable families and successfully parent children when they reach adulthood.

Saturating kids with sex is one method leftists use to create in them disdain for their parents' standards, and separate them from religion, particularly Christianity, which teaches against what Toni Morrison glorifies in The Bluest Eye. She depicts rape, incest and sex with children as "tender" and "innocent" in the mind of the perpetrator who, BTW, doesn't see anything wrong with these acts. She wrote it the way she did so readers could get into the heads (identify with) the perpetrator of such vile acts.

So you'd have no problem discussing this with a class of high school kids? Presumably, teaching a book involves classroom discussion... Note: the editor of the blog says the excerpts are heavily edited...

  34. Connie, have you ever read a edition of Cosmo lately?

  35. Also about test scores. About 10 years ago schools in Illinois started to have all Juniors take the ACT and test scores dropped dramatically.

You see before only those heading to college tested and now that everyone tested and it lowered scores. There was a big outcry due to this but slowly those scores have begun to rebound as we teach more things that are on the test to ensure more students have exposure to those subjects and materials.

So as CC is implemented it will be like anything...trouble at first but things will improve.

But why don't you let us professionals worry about that?
