  1. "Victory! The creator of this petition declared the campaign a success."

I would like to point out the very poor history on that petition (which btw was endorsed and signed by Brooks Simpson) --

"The Africans who were brought by force into southern slavery passed on long ago, but their pain was very real. Give these Africans their voices back and let them speak eloquently through our voices by saying no to the hanging of this Confederate flag. We should, in this day and age, be hanging the American [United States] flag..."

Ironically, many of the Africans "brought by force into southern slavery" were on ships bearing the United States flag.

None of them saw a Confederate flag.

  2. The more I see of this woman, the more it looks like she tries to think with her emotions ... little cognition exhibited. "Brought by force into southern slavery...."

Well, um, the northern states abolished something... I wonder what it was. You can't abolish something that doesn't exist, so it was NORTHERN slavery. I wonder if she thinks slavery in the northern states was not forced, if the slaves volunteered for it.

See? Emotion over cognition. Motivated for hatred of conservative, Christian white Southerners, past and present.

    1. Don't forget about the de facto slavery of the Irish and other immigrants in the industrialized North. Real slaves in the South were treated better than them.

  3. Confederate Kudzu ? It just keeps spreading ! They can't stop it !
I wonder what kinda Cheese they want to go with that Whine ?
Looks like the petitions worked "REAL" good.
As for abolition in the north- They wanted to abolish the Black inhabitants also. You know ban em from settling ( Black Codes)
Make sure the Underground railroad didn't stop until Canada !
    Colonization and so on !
Gimme a break ! The north was just as guilty of being racist as the south.

Lincoln gave a speech in June 1857 in the State Capitol in Springfield:

I have said that the separation of the races is the only perfect preventive of amalgamation. I have no right to say all the members of the Republican party are in favor of this, nor to say that as a party they are in favor of it. There is nothing in their platform directly on the subject. But I can say a very large proportion of its members are for it, and that the chief plank in their platform opposition to the spread of slavery” is most favorable to that separation.

Such separation, is ever effected at all, must be effected by colonization; and no political party, as such, is now doing anything directly for colonization. Party operations at present only favor or retard colonization incidentally. The enterprise is a difficult one; but 'when there is a will there is a way;' and what colonization needs most is a hearty will. Will springs from the two elements of moral sense and self-interest. Let us be brought to believe it is morally right, and, at the same time, favorable to, or, at least, not against, our interest, to transfer the African to his native clime, and we shall find a way to do it, however great the task may be. The children of Israel, to such numbers as to include four hundred thousand fighting men, went out of Egyptian bondage in a body.

Blame it all on DIXIE !!!!

  4. Some from Abe's good friend and Republican party leader, Lyman Trumbull.

Excerpt from Trumbull Chicago speech -

I want to have nothing to do either with the free negro or the slave negro. We, the Republican party, are the white man's party. [Great applause.] We are for free white men, and for making white labor-respectable and honorable, which it never can be when negro slave labor is brought into competition with it. [Great applause.]
We wish to settle the Territories with free white men, and we are willing that this negro race should go anywhere that it can to better its condition, wishing them God speed wherever they go. We believe it is better for us that they should not be among us. I believe it will be better for them to go elsewhere.

    A Voice. Where to?

Mr. Trumbull. - I would say to any Central American State, that will make an arrangement by which they can be secure in their rights until they arrive at a time when they can protect and take care of themselves.
