Of Flags and Mutts

Is this an appropriate use of the U.S. flag? The flag of a nation countless American servicemen have died for? The flag of our country's sovereignty? I would say no.

Do those who denigrate people for honoring Confederate heritage and who think such honor disrespects the USA themselves show little concern about disrespect for their country and its flag?

As we used to say back in high school, is grass green? Is the pope Catholic?

    1. I don't have a problem with people who honor and display the flag. Some of them do so out of genuine patriotism; some out of a misguided sense of patriotism. Some do it for crass commercialism, some out of a sense of identity, while other display it more along the lines of gang colors. There are so many of them flying, they hardly register on my attention anymore.

  2. I always thought that Charlie Daniels line "This ain't a rag, it's a flag, we don't wear it on our heads." was ironic lol

  3. Oh dear, how sacred that symbol is to them. But tell me, do any of these double as pooper scoopers?

  4. I used to be against using the Confederate flag in any way except on flag poles in cemeteries, at monuments and such. But I found out -- interestingly enough from a comment at Levin's flog -- that after the war, The Confederate Veteran publication had advertisements for knick knacks (matchbooks and such) with the flag on them. So I'm cool with it now, except in cases of extreme disrespect (bikinis, flags with skulls, marijuana leaves, etc., on them).

What critics like Simpson seem to forget is that these images above not only show disrespect for their national flag -- a flag of sovereignty -- but it's against federal law, so by condoning disrespect for the US flag, they're showing their contempt for federal law.

The floggers and their ilk aren't the good Americans they present themselves to be. They have no problem with the destruction of their country by leftism, by uncontrolled immigration, by the breathtakingly corrupt federal government...so it's not really a big deal for them when the US flag is abused and disrespected... I probably have more respect for it than some of them do. What they care about is what left-liberalism is all about: control...the antithesis of liberty. And what they cannot control, they denigrate.

I hate how people mistreat our flag. It's more than despicable. I wish the late 50's-70's never happened.
