Ron Wilson Sentenced

Ron Wilson sentenced to nearly 20 years in federal prison

— Before he was led out in handcuffs, Ponzi schemer and former Anderson County Council member Ron Wilson said he had cleared his conscience.

Wilson, 65, was sentenced Tuesday in a Greenville federal courtroom and he will spend the next 19 and a half years behind bars for running a decade-long scam that ended with $57.4 million lost from nearly 800 investors.

“I took from my brother and from my daughter,” Wilson said before he was sentenced. “I am extremely sorry for what I have done. My conscience is clearer now than it has been in years.”

There are people in the Dixie-bashin' "civil war memory/era" blogosphere who will no doubt be very disappointed that this report mentions nothing about the SCV.  Awwww.....

  1. They did not need to mention the SCV's. The crime did not pretain to the SCV.

But I smiled just as big as if they did mention it...:P

  2. Of course you did. You hate the SCV. You are the kind of person who feels orgiastic joy over the misfortunes of others. I wouldn't expect anything less from you.

  3. No Connie, I don't feel joy over the misfortunes of others. Unless, however, they bring those misfortunes on themselves

So actaully, it was Ron Wilson that found joy in taking from others causing their misfortune.

  4. No, Corey, you can't squirm your way out of what you said. Your big smile didn't have anything to do with Ron Wilson bringing trouble on himself. Your big smile came because of my reference to the SCV.

  5. I'm not wrong. Go back and read what you said. Your big smile didn't have anything to do with Ron Wilson bringing trouble on himself. Your big smile came because of my reference to the SCV. You despise the SCV and you're glad to see them smeared by association with Wilson, even if the association didn't make the newspaper report.

Now, say "No," again without offering any counter argument.

  6. No, I did not say I smiled because of the SCV's...they did not need to mention the SCV's because they had nothing to do with Wilson's downfall...that was a completely different issue.

However, knowing what crap Wilson did to the SCV...the actual people who matter to the SCV...I think his demise...no matter what it is...is fitting.

"It" being the SCV. You were smiling at what you perceived to be misfortune for the SCV -- even if it wasn't mention in the news report.
