Group-think (Hive Mentality) On Display

Simpson sez,
Southern nationalists seem a bit confused* as to where they stand on the situation in Crimea. Southern nationalist Connie Chastain offers this statement: Ukraine for Ukrainians, Russkies, Go HOME! Obama, stay out of it.**  Meanwhile, the League of the South supports Russia’s acquisition of Crimea through a referendum, because it’s a secessionist movement. Indeed, I’ve heard that Dr. Michael Hill has invited Vladimir Putin to address the League at its next national meeting.

I guess Simpson thinks this is BIG NEWS -- at least, enough to blog about it. The only reason I mention his bringing it up is to point out a few things.

First, I'm not confused where I stand on it.

Second, Southern nationalists, like Southern heritage folks, are not mental clones. Apparently flogger types expect us to be, which illustrates something about THEM. They are leftists, and leftists are trapped in a  group-think hive mentality. Despite their verbal devotion to "diversity," they are positively allergic to DIVERSITY of THOUGHT or OPINION.

Third, it illustrates Simpson's desire to denigrate, his lust for the put-down, his compulsion to smear -- even when there's nothing to denigrate, put down or smear.

Fourth, although the extent of his intent was to ridicule me and Southern nationalism, some of his readers find the subject of Russia and Ukraine worthy of more serious discussion.  Lyle Smith notes, "I think besides being a Southern nationalist Connie Chastain is also an American nationalist. 'Russkies, go home' sounds like some good ole fashion American nationalist anti-Soviet speak."

Indeed. I may have grave differences with the conduct of the U.S. government and its military excursions, and while I abhor what leftism has done to the culture of the USA, I AM an American.*** I fondly remember the U.S. in its better days. I honor what it used to be, and what it was supposed to be.

Fifth, I've noted this before, but I'll note it again. Simpson, I wouldn't want to be like you....

***Geeze, Confederates were Americans. See? Fill in the blank: The Confederate States of _______. Hint: it starts with A and ends with A and it ain't Antarctica.

Note to Austin: I wanted to leave the previous entry as the current one for a while longer, but Simpson's "interest" in this subject just begged to be, um, analyzed.  Still thinking about your Ft. Pillow idea, though.

  1. Simpson has no expertise on this issue, which is evidenced by his bilious remarks. Just the latest attempt at a cheap insult by that nasty little man.

PS- Thanks for the reply. I just thought it was another opportunity to expose their foul hypocrisy.
